Sending you big hugs & good for you for speaking your truth - never easy, but best in the long run!

Question: Is putting "release" or "story" or "pitch" really necessary or helpful in the subject line for you? I always think it's kind of a waste of important real estate as long as your subject line sounds like a story? Thanks as always for sharing, Blane!

Thanks for your awesome support as usual, Maggie!

So, re: "release" in the subject line is fine w/me, but only if it's truly a timely, newsworthy release (which is debatable for a lot of them). And I agree that "press release" is a bit of a waste of real estate, as you mentioned. "Pitch" or "story idea" are also just dandy. I hope that helps!

Having family in the South, I had to check to see if Garden & Gun was a real magazine...

Ha! It is indeed, Bob, and a great one at that! The title sometimes gets some raised eyebrows, but it's a nod to the name of a former nightclub (I think) in Charleston, where it is based, as well as a reference to the sporting culture of the US South. It's a fantastic publication and I highly recommend subscribing! Their print issues are just gorgeous. (And, as always, thanks for reading and commenting!)
